An Ifetedo Magistrate’s Court in Osun on Thursday, remanded three accused persons, Ojo Omonigbehin, 68; Sunday Ogunlana, 45 and Adewale Olafusi, 37 for allegedly stealing goats.

The Prosecutor, Insp James Obaletan, told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 23, 2017 at about 06:00 pm at Oke-Soda Street, Ifetedo, in Ife South Local Government Area of Osun.

Obaletan explained that the accused conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit: stealing three she-goats each, total valued N75, 000, properties of Mrs Felicia Adedire, Mrs Faith Idafe and Mrs Esther Oluwasaanufunmi respectively.

He said the offence contravened section 383, punishable under sections 390 (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 C Vol 11, Laws of the Federation, 2004, as applicable in Osun State.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to three-count charge of conspiracy, attempt to commit felony and stealing.

The Defence Counsel, Mr Ola Ibrahim. applied for the bail of the accused in most Libra term,pledged his clients would not jump bail, but produce substantial sureties.

Magistrate Iyabo Salami granted the bail of the accused in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

Salami said that the surety must be gainfully employed and must produce three years tax clearance certificate.

She adjourned the case till May 3, for mention and ordered the accused to be kept in Ile-Ife prison custody till perfection of bail.
